The Daily Mail claims that Rangers have made great strides in their quest to find a long-term replacement for James Bisgrove as chief executive.

After Bisgrove moved for Al-Qadsiah, a Saudi Pro League team, in May, the Ibrox club was left without a CEO. However, it looks like their five-month hunt is finally coming to an end.

Later this year, the Rangers will hold their Annual General Meeting, and they will be anxious to have their new CEO in place before then.

Bisgrove’s successor may be in place prior to the Light Blues giving its shareholders the 21-day notice of the AGM that they are expected to provide.

Jim Gillespie, the vice chairman of St. Mirren, was supposed to be the new Rangers CEO, but the deal fell through, and no one has been selected since.

John Gilligan occupied the position in an interim capacity after Chairman John Bennett, who had previously held the office, had to resign due to health concerns.

In the Scottish Premiership, the Light Blues have had a dismal start to 2024–25, trailing joint leaders Celtic and Aberdeen by nine points after ten games.

Determining manager Philippe Clement’s immediate future will be one of the first things the new CEO does because he will be eager to get started and help them turn their fortunes around.

Rangers, whose chances have appeared low thus far, cannot afford to miss out on Champions League action next season after suffering a £17.2 million loss in their most recent annual accounts.

Fans will be anxiously awaiting the selection of their next CEO, so they must make the correct choice.
