Leeds United’s midfield injury crisis may force them to recall Dark Gyabi from his loan with Plymouth Argyle.

In an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Paul Robinson, a former custodian for Leeds and England who still maintains strong ties to the team, stated that Gyabi is still a possibility to start in place of the injured Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu.

The 20-year-old became a vital member of Wayne Rooney’s first-choice starting lineup after joining Argyle on loan in the summer.

Since moving from Elland Road, he has made 11 appearances in all competitions thus far this season, starting all but one of their nine Championship games.

But midfielder injuries have severely impacted Daniel Farke’s team; Robinson recently told Football Insider that both Ampadu and Gruev will be out until “at least” January 2025.

Due to this, the squad has been obliged to evaluate their midfield options. Gyabi’s performance on loan has raised the possibility that he may play for Leeds in the starting lineup.
