With the Reds having a great start to the season, Nottingham Forest supporters have something to be happy about.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team did lose their last match before the international break, but it shouldn’t take away from their strong start.
When Forest plays Arsenal the next weekend, they have a chance to pass the Gunners if they win all three points.
Since the summer, the City Ground has seen a large influx of new players, including Elliot Anderson, who impressed Gary Neville.
Additionally, another young Forest talent has signed a new contract that will keep them around for years to come.
Zyan Blake agrees to a professional deal with Nottingham Forest.
Zayn Blake, a 17-year-old Forest prodigy, has signed his first professional contract, according to information posted on the team’s website Friday.
The 17-year-old signed a three-year contract on his 17th birthday, extending his contractual stay until 2027.
This follows the midfielder’s selection on the Forest B Team roster for the most recent matchup with Wigan Athletic.
Blake is making progress in the Forest academy system, but he still has a ways to go before he can make an impact on the senior squad, especially since Morgan Gibbs-White was praised for his England performance against Greece.
Despite just being 17 years old, the young player has already practiced with Nuno’s team.
The Academy Head of Forest’s remarks regarding Zyan Blake
It is obvious that this news has been well received among the team, as Chris McGuane, the head of academy at Forest, is clearly thrilled.
“Zyan is an exciting player who can manipulate the ball in small areas to unlock defences. He is quick and a real threat during attacking moments of the game.” Zyan told the Forest website that he is “very focused and determined to ensure he meets his potential over the coming years.”
“We all look forward to seeing what the future holds for Zyan and are thrilled to see how he continues to develop with us at Nottingham Forest.”
Blake has only played at the U18 level thus far, despite having trained with the Forest first team. The U21s are the next obvious step.
This aggressive midfielder, who is still in his first full year of playing U18 football, has a long road ahead of him.
