Max Wober, a defender for Leeds United, appears to be “ahead of schedule” in his recuperation. According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, who has provided a positive update on his health, that is the case.
Due to a meniscus injury, the centre-back has not been able to play recently. He has only made one appearance for the Whites this season, against Middlesbrough at home in the Carabao Cup.
According to a report by MOT Leeds News, Dr. Rajpal Brar stated: “Given his six-week recovery period, this was most likely a meniscus trim in which the surgeon removes the irritated portion of the meniscus.” He should resume individual training around a month following the procedure, in my opinion. I would predict that he will be out of full first-team training until the first week of November, after which he will ramp up to team training and bounce matches, as he appears to be ahead of schedule.
Leeds United’s injury report.
Wober was signed by Leeds in 2023, and his contract is valid until 2027. He will provide Daniel Farke with an additional defensive option once he is fully recovered.
Former Whites manager Jesse Marsch brought him to England, but he hasn’t yet been able to create the impact he would have liked. He was sent out on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach last season after the team was demoted from the Premier League during his debut season.
“We are three central defenders who are at a very similar level,” the Austrian international stated in September. As a coach, I wouldn’t make many changes if we continue to be successful and nothing changes. I must thus wait for the opportunity.
“I’m in Leeds, and it’s the ideal place for me. I didn’t say I was desperate to get out. I took on this endeavour, but I am aware that getting back to where I was before won’t be simple. On paper, we have the finest team and a diverse group, so the opportunity to compete in the Premier League again is enormous. Promotion is obviously our aim.
Wober began his career at Rapid Wien, a local team, after being born in Vienna. Before making it into their first squad, he progressed through their academy and was a consistent at several youth levels.
When he began to establish himself in their senior lineup, Ajax took notice and acquired him in 2017. After that, he played in the Eredivisie for two years before Sevilla enticed him to Spain.
However, Wober’s tenure in La Liga was brief, as he quickly regained his footing after joining Red Bull Salzburg. He went on to play 125 games for the Austrian Bundesliga team, scoring nine goals during many of them while being coached by Marsch.
After that, he got a job in Leeds, where he has since played in 20 games. He played 27 games for them last season, scoring twice from the back, and Gladbach came calling just over a year ago.
